I have finally found the time to give it a try.

Good news: the fix seems to work correctly and the resolution of the
movies appear to be correct on both screens!
As a consequence, I think that github issue [#210] may be considered as
fixed by the pull request you cited.

Moreover, it seems to me that two other issues are fixed by the tip of
the pull request: issues [#209] and [#240].
